• Fill any medical prescriptions for at least a 2-week supply
• Gas up vehicles. Make sure vehicles are properly maintained. Assemble disaster supply kits for both home and car. Remember to replace water and food on a regular basis
• Put supplies needed for cleanup and recovery in a safe place
• Select appropriate tools and supplies
• Know how fire extinguishers work (Check fire extinguishers and replace batteries in flashlights twice a year. Doing so when clocks are adjusted in the spring and the fall establishes an easy-to-remember pattern.)
