The Alabama State Fire Marshals Office has arrested a second person in connection with a Bibb County fire death that occurred in October.

Billy Joe Shadrick Jr., 45, was charged with capital murder and first-degree arson in connection with the October fire death of David Leonard White, 56. Previously charged was Shadrick’s wife, Wanda Shadrick, age 30. The fire occurred in West Blocton.

Shadrick was injured in the fire and was hospitalized in Birmingham until Wednesday. He was arrested upon his release from the hospital. Both Shadricks are being held in the Bibb County Jail without bond.

The case was investigated by the State Fire Marshals Office, the Bibb County Sheriff’s Department, the West Blocton Police Department and the Alabama Department of Forensic Sciences.
