A late night house fire Wednesday, August 26, in the Brookwood community of Tuscaloosa County has resulted in one fatality and one injury. The fire on Hanna Creek Road in Brookwood at approximately 11:30 Wednesday night caused the total destruction of a mobile home as well as a wood siding home next door which was attached by a porch/walkway. The dead victim has been identified as 70 year old Peggy Sellers. Her 69 year old husband, Lester Sellers received burns on his hands, arms and face and was also treated for smoke inhalation. He's expected to be released from Druid City Hospital on Friday. "The cause of the fire is expected to be ruled accidental," reports Assistant State Fire Marshal Scott Pilgreen, "although the investigation continues."Responding agencies included the Alabama State Fire Marshal's Office, the Tuscaloosa County Sherriff's Office, and Volunteer Fire Departments from Brookwood, Abernant, Lakeview and Coling."
