A Monday afternoon fire at Betta View Hills Church of Christ in Oxford resulted in extensive damage to the church and contents.
The church, located at 2140 Highway 78 West in Oxford, was discovered burning at 2:23 PM. Fire departments from Oxford and several surrounding communities responded to the alarm.
An investigation by the State Fire Marshals Office revealed the fire originated from an electrical short involving wiring located in the kitchen.
